I want a hippopotamus for Christmas

I can not believe that 2009 is nearly over! I am sure that I say this every year… but the years do indeed seem to be zipping by. As I look back on the year, I have to have a chuckle, what a ride!

I have been so fortunate to have maintained my full time position as a consultant for Skyline BC helping companies with their trade show marketing programs. I can work remotely from home during convenient hours.

Children's Trunk Show fun and games

Barking Hippo officially launched this weekend at the Children's Trunk Show in Vancouver! The website went LIVE the night before the show... minus the shopping cart....but that's coming very soon!

The show was great! Apart from getting in front of Barking Hippo customers, meeting all of the other amazing vendors was truly inspirational. Some seasoned pros were there and I now know that I have some wonderful mentors in the industry.

Some pics to give you a feel of the event!

Cheers,

Melissa

Barking Hippo is born

After months of research, planning and preparations I am thrilled to announce that Barking Hippo - Rescued Retro Wear is officially launching! I can hardly believe that this day has come, and can honestly understand what it means when people say that anything is possible!? So far, this has been quite the journey and this is only the beginning!

After success at local artisan markets, we decided to give our little baby an online shop! Which is a HUGE undertaking as every item that we sell is ONE-OF-A-KIND, so the maintenance, love and dedication to our site is going to be tricky… but well worth the effort!

As a mompreneur, as we have been coined, I feel that the support and resources available have been amazing and feel proud of all the women out there that are taking on new business ventures everyday. Trying to do IT ALL seems impossible sometimes, but learning how to juggle all the hats that we are wearing is part of the journey.

Barkinghippo.com will be going live this week… so stay tuned… and thanks for the love!

Smiles,

Melissa
